3274. Preston Thompson Jackson-1197
Preston was 20 years old, still living with his parents in the 1870 Fed. census for Washington Co., Minnesota. In the 1875 Minnesota Territorial & State Census he was 25 years old with his new bride, Alice. In this 1875 Minnesota State Census, both of Alice's parents were born in New York. There is also a young man, John Shaw, age 18 (b abt 1857) in New York living with Preston and Alice. They have no children yet. His middle name is taken from the SAR application of his son Marshall Shaw Jackson.

Page Number 217AI (Janie) was looking for a marriage record for Florence B. Jackson b 1855 to a possible W. T. Friend about 1879. I found them on the 1880 census for Huron County, Ohio, but I believe there could be an enumerators error here and would like to verify the marriage. This census records that their daughter, Julia B. Friend, was born in Florida. But I know Huron County was Florence's home county.
So there definitely was an enumerator's error in the 1880 record because the 1900 verifies that Florence's husband and Julia's father's name was Emil A. Friend. The W. T. listed as a son in the 1880 census should have been recorded as W. T. Jackson, son.

Julia was living in the home of her widowed Grandmother Julia B. Williams Jackson. Her mother Florence was also in the home and possibly her father. Possibility of enumerators error here. Her father is listed as W. T. Friend, son of Julia B Jackson. Perhaps son-in-law was meant; or perhaps this fellow should have been listed as W. T. Jackson (William Theodore), son. The 1900 Census for Florence has verified that her husband's name was Emil A. Friend. The reference to W. T. Friend in the 1880 Census was in error and should have read W. T. Jackson, son.
