JACKSON, MRS. DONIE, 77, died at Harriman Hospital last Tuesday morning. She is survived by four sons, the Rev.Dewey Jackson of Knoxville, Welch Jackson of Coalfield, Wade Jackson and Walter Sampsell of Oliver Springs, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one step-daughter, Mrs. Mac Bunch of Clarksville,Ark.,one step-son, Herman Jackson of Kenewick,Wash., one sister, Mrs. Fornie Jones of Oliver Springs.Services were held today (Thursday) at the Middle Creek Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with burial in the Jackson family cemetery.Sharp's of Oliver Springs is in charge. Darrell Jackson's research has an ALT birth date for Sarah as 18 Jun 1856. I have used the birth date on the 1900 census but even that says her birth month in 'not known'.

This birth date for Manward is suspect as there is no way for his brother Harrison to be born this soon after Manward. Harrison's birth date is verified by the 1900 Census in his father's Notes.

If these dates are correct for Oveline, she should have been on the 1900 Census with the rest of the family. But she wasn't. Also Oveline's birth dates conflict with the sister Martha whose birth date is verified by the 1900 census record noted in her father's Notes. Needs more research.

JACKSON, HORACE M. age 69, years died at his home on the Coalfield-Oliver Springs Rd.[6/25/1937] He was one of Morgan County's pioneer citizens. The youngest of 16 children of Rev. W. R. and Mahala Cooper Jackson. He was married to Ida [Mae] Stonecipher, 12/25/1898. [she died 11/20/1950] There were six children born. Survivors: wife, sons, Ezraand Edgar; daughters, Edith and Marjorie; daughteres Minnie and Lizzie prceded him; four grandchildren. Burial in Davis Cemetery. [Morgan County News]
