Library, Westbury, NY and was taken from a tape made by Solomon's granddaughter, Esther Hicks Emory. I have used the dates from the Register of Members, Jericho MM instead.

Esther L. Post-1932

Robert Eldredge sent me the following:
The Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy by William Wade Hinshaw (Vol III) on page 486 records:
"Solomon S m 2d 3-14-1867 at Jericho (cert not recorded) Esther L. POST, dt Jarvis & Phebe W., b 10-17-1829 d 1-27-1928 age 98y 3m 10d."

R. G. Clarke's website records Esther's parents as "James Post and Phebe Willis, and that Phebe was the daughter of Samuel Willis. I don't know whether there was an actual Jarvis married to Phebe or if it was a misreading of old handwriting somewhere along the line. Am putting both here for your consideration.

From papers at Westbury Historical Society Library, Westbury, NY:
"According to Henry Hicks, Esther's son-in-law, she attended abolition meetings in Rochester with his Aunt Amy and Uncle Isaac Post. She taught public school in Jericho."

Benjamin Seaman-2548

Benjamin was son of Enoch Seaman.

1287. Abraham Laing-5922

Martie Carreon has copy of his will dated 3 Aug 1849, proved in Essex County 26 Feb 1850.

[I have found this but I don't know if this refers to this Abraham Laing or a different Abraham:
"Another group of Friends lived in Humberstone Township closer to Sugar Loaf. Abraham Laing, Wilson and Elijah Doan, Titus and Enos Doan, Joel White Morris, Joseph and Nathan Havens, Asa Azaliah, and Jehoiada Schooley, John Harret, John Cutler, Amos Morris, James and Samuel Wilson were among the signers of another 1793 petition, this one from "Inhabitants settled round the Point called Sugar Loaf."

Sarah Webster-5923

Martie Carreon has copy of her will proved in Union County 4 Dec 1866, with the inventory filed in Union County, 1874.

1301. David Rushing-14175

Note provided by Bob Mitchell:
David Rushing was not mentioned in his father's Last Will and Testament due to the fact that he had preceded his father in death. Nancy Deason Rushing was named in the will as along with the other living children of Robert Rushing and Jemima Jackson.
Anson Co. Deed Book Z, p.581, 17 Oct. 1832; names heirs of David Rushing: widow Nancy, Calvin Rushing, Gilbert Rushing, Rebecca Jackson.
Anson Co. Deed Bk Z, page 591 under date 17 OCT 1832.'Nancy Rushing, Calvin Rushing, Gilbert Rushing, Rebecca Jackson, Widow & heirs at law of David Rushing, deceased, to Robert S. Huntley for $900.00--on waters of Brown Creek being lands of David granted him, a part to William Johnson & Robert Rushing. Witnessed by: J. White/Stephen Huntley. Signed: Nancy Rushing/Calvin Rushing/William G. Rushing/Rebecca Jackson.

David Rushing died prior to 2 JUN 1828. Proved by Deed in Bk W, page 262 that date when Holden Rushing sold to Calvin Rushing 'allright & claim to land bought of David Rushing's estate on Brown Creek adjacent Jonathan Duren, Andrew Paul & Michael Baker.'
BkY, page 164--Robert Lowry & wife of Dist. of Chesterfield, S. C.to Calvin Rushing--relinquish right in David Rushing's estate (deceased)--29 MAR 1829 Signed: Robert Lowry/Jemimah M. Lowry.

Nancy Rebecca Deason-11158

Note provided by Bob Mitchell:
Deed Book Z, Page 531. Nancy Rushing to Robert Huntley, 246 acres of land on Brown's Creek and Little Brown's Creek. Nancy Rushing is the wife of David Rushing late of Anson Co. WIT. J. White and Stephen Huntley. Jan Ct. 1838.

Nancy apparently moved to Tennessee after her husband's death. She is living with son, William Gilbert in 1830 Perry County. In 1840 Perry County she is listed as head of family with one son living with her, probably Calvin Rushing. She is shown at the top of the census page with Rebecca Jackson next and then Mary Bennett, all female heads of families. Perry County was split in 1845 and the area where Nancy and her sons lived, west of the Tennessee River, was renamed Decatur County.

Janie:
In the 1850 census Nancy is living with her son William Gilbert and his family. Next household is her daughter Rebecca Rushing Jackson. See census posted in William's Notes.
