Note from Graham Johnson: "I believe that David Seaman and Sarah Kirby had a son Williams Seaman, not William Seaman (1796-1855). One of my sources for this is Volume V, page 166 of Deats, Edwin R. (compiler) and Macy, Harry Jr. (Editor), Underhill Genealogy. (Gateway Press, Inc., baltimore, MD 1980). Williams was a family surname that was used a s a first name by several people."

"Amy Kirby (Post) was quite active in the Underground Railroad in the Rochester area and is mentioned in the book "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl" by Harriet Jacobs. I (Graham) know that many of the letters to and from Amy Kirby (Post) were given to the University of Rochester library."
