850. Abel Jackson-10370
According to Bob Mitchell:
Abel Jackson was one of the early pioneers who moved from North Carolina to the Indian Territories of Middle and West Tennessee. He settled in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Humphreys County was part of Stewart County until 1809 when the southern portion was divided off and proclaimed Humphreys County. In 1835 the portion of Humphreys County that was on the west side of the Tennessee River became Benton County. Perry County shared a border to the south of Humphreys County. The western portion of Perry County, across the Tennessee River, became Decatur County in 1845. All of these counties were settled by North Carolina pioneers between 1800 and 1830. The Jackson Family and the Rushing Family can be found in all of these during the timeframes mentioned above.
852. Mary 'Polly' Hendrick Jackson-14334
Note provided by Bob Mitchell: 1804 Laws of North Carolina, Chapter CXXVL. "An act to alter names of the persons therein mention, and to legitamate them. Be enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same. That the names of William Joyner, Martha Joyner, Sally Joyner, Joseph Joyner, Mary Joyner and Geraldus Joyner, illegitimate children of Joseph Batts and Elizabeth Joyner, of Edgecomb County, be altered and changed to those of William Batts, Martha Batts, Elizabeth Batts, Sally Batts, Joseph Batts, Mary Batts and Geraldus Batts:...And the names of John Kindrick, Polly Kindrick, Betsey Kindrick and Salley Kindrick, natural born children of Stephen Jackson, of Anson County, be altered to the names of John Jackson, Polly Jackson, Betsey Jackson and Salley Jackson..."
Copied from the rootsweb chart of Dan Sullivan:
NCGS Journal, Vol III, No. 1, pg. 6Anson Co, NC (Stack File # C.R. 005.928.3)1. JACKSON, Mary, wife of John Field AULD, both of Union Parish, LA., 23 Oct. 1855, appoints James C. Craig of Chesterfield Dist., SC, her attorney to convey to Elizabeth JACKSON, wife and widow of Lewis GANEY (late deceased), her interest in the Estate of her mother, Nancy JACKSON - all of Chesterfield Dist., SC. On 23 Apr., 1856, James C. CRAIG of Chesterfield Dist.,SC, as Attorney aforementioned, sells to said Elizabeth GANEY [formerly Elizabeth Crawford] for $600. the interest of said Mary AULD and John F. AULD (in right of his wife) in the Estate of Nancy KENDRICKS [JACKSON] (mother of said Mary AULD) of Anson Co., NC.

856. David Jackson-10419
According to Bob Mitchell:
Referred to as Harry David Jackson in Myers' files.
---------------------------------Mary H. Russell has his name as Harry David Jackson also.
---------------------------------
The Heritage, pg 12: 'Edward's son David and daughter-in-law Rachel Bracken Jackson, along with daughter Mahaley 'Alsey' Jackson Myers and her husband Carney left for Walker County in 1837, taking with them their children."Page 13: "In Walker County, David's wife Rachel died sometime after September 1850, and he moved with his sons to Parker County, Texas, in 1856, dying a year later."
Page 8: "The DAR does not accept that he married a Widow Ramsey."
857. Mahala 'Alsy' Jackson-10420
Bill Couch's site has Mahala's DOB 1781 and DOD 1885.
859. Benjamin Franklin Jackson Sr.-10421
According to Bob Mitchell:
1820: A Benjamin Jackson was enumerated in Gwinnet Co., Georgia as head of family. The enumeration is as follows: 1 male under 10; 1 male 16-26; 1 male 25-45; 2 females under 10; 1 female 10-16, 1 female 26-45 and 1 female over 45.
1840: USCensus for Walker Co., Georgia has a Benjamin Jackson enumerated as head of family. The enumeration is as follows: 1 male under 5; 1 male 5-10; 2 males 10-15; 1 male 30-40 and 1 male 60-70; 2 females 5-10; 1 female 30-40 and 1 female 40-50. This appears to be two families, difficult to determine where the children should be placed. The male head of family is assumed to be the eldest and in this case seems to be a little too old for Benjamin, could be an error in age. The next oldest male and female could be a son and his wife from the first marriage of Benjamin, Sr.
860. Sarah Jackson-10422
B. Dowdey notes that she died of smallpox.
George Washington Brogdon-10690
According to Jacquelyn Cannon: George donated 50 acres of land for the Lawrenceville Methodist campground.
On the 1850 Census Sugar Hill, Gwinnett Co., Georgia; there is a female child, Julian, age 6, listed with George and Sarah. I (Janie) don't know if this is a child of their's or a grandchild, as George is 68 and Sarah is 50. She is not listed with them on the 1860 census.
On his son George's 1880 census, the son says his father was born in Tennessee.
862. Seaborn Jones Jackson-10424
Note from Genealogist Grady Langley, Jr.: "From the Meyers papers in the Georgia State Archives, Edward Jackson owned a mill on Little Mulberry, north of Auburn, about 2-3 miles. It was operated by Seaborn Jones Jackson. Today, Auburn, GA is located in Barrow Co., half way between Hoschton, Jackson Co. and Grayson, Gwinnett Co. Barrow Co. was formed in 1914 from parts of Jackson, Gwinnett and Walton Counties."

Notes from Grady Langley 29 Feb 2008: "Nata's parents have not been identified with certainty by any Langley researcher that I know of. Most believe the parents are Thomas and Nancy Langley. They are found in Jackson Co. as early as 1809. Supposedly they lived near the community of Braselton. That location is still in Jackson Co. today, but not far from Auburn where Edward Jackson lived. Feel free to use the "probable" parents of Nata Harris Langley Jackson on your web site. I only ask that you qualify that info as not proven.
"Thomas and Nancy Langley moved from Jackson Co. to Gwinnett Co. about 1827 and probably settled just south of Lawrenceville. Edward Jackson and family relocated also, to just south of Grayson in Gwinnett Co. -- again, not far from the Langley's.
"Evidence that Nancy is the mother of Nata, and Thomas T., etc. is that she is listed in the 1850 census of Gwinnett Co. living next door to Enoch Langley and his family as well as Jeptha Langley and his family. Enoch and Jeptha are her sons, and brothers of Nata. Nancy is shown as a widow in this census. She was also there in the 1840 census with children in the household, one possibly was Nata, but unfortunately that census only has the names of household heads and counts family members by age brackets. There was not husband listed in that census.
"Keep in mind that it is still theory that the Jackson's and Langley's were acquaintances back in Jackson Co.
"I have found that her first husband was James Davis -- at least I think this was the same Nata mentioned above. I found this bit of info in the Meyers Collection in the Georgia State Archives. So, Little Berry M. Jackson was her second husband. I don't have an exact marriage date, but it was certainly 1930 or earlier since her first child was born Sept. 1830. This certainly does not agree with the birth year of 1818-1819 mentioned earlier. Surely she was older than 11 or 12 when she married -- and her second marriage at that. But, such marriages were legal back then, and known to happen."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Janie: Her estimated age on the census records varied each year. In 1850 she was 32, in 1860 she was 48, in 1870 she was 56 and in 1880 she was 62.

George was wounded at Crampton Pass during the Civil War, and died in the US Army hospital Oct. 16, 1862 at Burkettsville, MD. This according to Elizabeth (Betty) Barbour, a Jackson descendant.
