Descendants of Robert Jackson-554

Notes

Elizabeth 'Betty' Holmes-9105

Previously I had taken Elizabeth's birth date from a rootsweb chart which said she was born 25 Apr 1686. Graham Johnson pointed out to me that this date is illogical as her father-in-law wasn't born until 1734 and Elizabeth's daughter Phebe died in 1824. I have not yet found a reliable source for her birth date.

Susanna Burr-21810

Susanna's birth date calculated based on age at death of 30 years, 9 months and 22 days on her gravestone inscription as reported in 'The Record'.

1246. John B. Tredwell-21831

Birthdate calculated from age at death: 33yrs, 5mos, 14 days.

658. Solomon S. Jackson Sr.-1014

The following is copyrighted material by Robert P. Eldredge. Used with permission.
Solomon was a nephew of Almy Seaman who, in her will, left him her Negro Boy named Obadiah, her 'Cow and Cubbard and my Best Bed and beding and my Silver buckles". Her monetary estate went to Solomon's father to hold for ten years, then to be divided between Solomon and his brother James. From pg. 152.

Solomon was probably the youngest of his parents 4 children. From pg 153.

Mary Brower-1016

Mary was born after her father, Jeremiah Brower, died in New Jersey in 1776. He was a merchant in New York.

1257. Elizabeth B. 'Eliza' Jackson-1019

From Robert Eldredge: "In 1870 her brother noted in his will, that Elizabeth was the widow of Stephen Dodge, and Jeremiah left her a legacy from his estate."

1258. Martha Jackson-1020

From Robert Eldredge: "Martha S. was apparently unmarried when brother Jeremiah prepared his will in 1870 because he referred to her as Martha S. Jackson. Jeremiah left her an income from his estate."

Martha was found on the 1880 Census for District 295, Queens, New York City-Greater, NY

1259. Amy S. Jackson-1021

From Robert Eldgredge: Amy S. was, like her sister Martha, unmarried in 1870. Her brother Jeremiah named her by her maiden name in his will, and he also left her an income from his estate."

659. James Jackson-5690

James is mentioned in his mother-in-law, Freelove Jones Birdsall's 1821 will.

Notes below from research of Willard S. Moore provided to Janie Kimble January, 2008:
"James died at Islip, New York, 'in the 54th year of his age,' shortly before 4 August, 1831, when his death was reported in 'The Long-Island Farmer'. . . James Jackson left but scanty traces on the historical record. He is mentioned in the wills of his grandfather and two of his aunts, one of which also mentions his daughter Margaret. James's wife may be the Phebe Jackson who witnessed the will of his aunt Martha Van De Water. James and Phebe Jackson's family is also mentioned in two wills from Phebe's side of the family. The will of Phebe's mother, Freelove Birdshal [sic], dated 28 February 1821, mentions 'my son in law James Jackson [and] my three grand dauters [sic] namely Margaret Jackson Elizabeth Jackson Deborah Jackson.' The will of Margaret Tredwell, widow of Timothy Tredwell, dated 8 January 1814, mentions mother Freelove Birdshall [sic] and sister Phebe Jackson."
