Charles Cleo "Buck" Caffey, 83, died Aug. 14 at his home in Rockdale. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Jack Chelf and the Rev. Doug Springer officiating. Burial followed in the Salty Cemetery.Caffey was born Dec. 3, 1920 in Santa Ana to Charles Napoleon Caffey and Neely T. (Harris) Caffey. He was a welder for Brown and Root, a farmer, rancher and independent service station operator in Milam County, and owned a successful construction company in San Marcos for 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in Company H of the U. S. Army's 334th Infantry in the Rhineland and central Europe.
He married Alta Raye Jackson on July 3, 1941 in Pasadena.
Caffey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Claude, J. W. and C. M. Caffey; and sister Edith Beyer.
Survivors include his wife, Alta Raye Caffey of Rockdale; sons, Charles Ray Caffey and wife Neva Jack of Rockdale, Edward Caffey and wife Debbie of San Marcos; daughters Linda Biar and husband Jerry, and Debbie Leschber and husband Raymond, all of Thorndale; brothers, Lester Caffey and wife Ladella of Thrall, Bobby Caffey and wife Betty of Thorndale and Billy Caffey of Rockdale; sisters, Audrey Hughes of Bryan and Sybil Popham of Dublin; sister-in-law, Bernice Caffey Moore; grandchildren, Charles Derek Caffey and wife April of Rockdale, Kevin Ray Caffey of Bryan, Mark Biar and wife Julie of Thorndale, Wayne Leschber and wife Stacy of Thorndale, Matthew Leschber and wife Jenny of Beaukiss, Clint Leschber and wife Nikki of Thorndale, Rhonda Jordon and husband Craig of Thorndale, Tina Schaefer and husband Scott of Thorndale, Christie Caffey, Diane Caffey and Courtney Caffey, all of San Marcos; great-grandchildren, Colton, Austin and Brandi Caffey, Tyler and Paxton Jordon, Riley and Ashton Schaefer, Skyler, Ryan and Nathan Biar, Luke, Landri, and Lance Leschber, Caden and Addison Leschber and Paige and Wyatt Leschber.
Pall bearers were Derek Caffey, Kevin Caffey, Craig Jordon, Scott Schaefer, Mark Biar, Wayne Leschber, Matthew Leschber and Clint Leschber.

Married Jo Ann Beavers in 1957 in Rockdale. Member of VFW, serving in U.S. Navy during WW-2 from 9/14/1945 to 8/2/1946 and also served in U.S. Army from 9/29/1950 to 9/28/1952. Preceded in death by brother, Conrad Jackson in 10/1980.

MERIDIAN - Russell Lloyd "Rusty" Darsey died Monday.
Services are at 2 p.m.today at Stephens Funeral Homewith burial in Memorial Park. Mr. Darsey was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy A. Darsey of Meridian; sister, Mrs. Denise D. Holden of Jackson; two brothers, Stephen A. Darsey of Ft. Worth, Texas, and T. R. Darsey of Meridian, and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Eron Darsey, Meridian.Services for Russell Lloyd (Rusty) Darsey were to be held today at 2 p.m. from the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Riley officiating. Burial was to be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Darsey, 24, of 2217 25th Ave., Meridian, died in an auto accident Monday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Rush Hospital. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a shipping clerk for Hardin's Bakery.
