PINKERTON, Gilbert Andrew of San Marcos. Age 57. Died 12/30/1955 (Friday) following a heart attack. Services held (Sunday) at Pennington's Funeral Chapel in San Marcos and in Salty Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Burial in Salty cemetery. Rev. J.E. McDonald, pastor of the church, officiated in San Marcos with Thomas Hogan, Student of Southwest Texas Teachers College and a close friend of the family, in charge in Salty.

Mr. Pinkerton was BORN 7/31/1899 in Falls Co., near Rosebud. He moved with his parents, M/M. Horace Pinkerton to the Salty Comm. when a small boy. He grew to manhood in the Salty Comm. and joined the Salty Methodist Church in early childhood. Married Helen Brown on 4/8/1923. They had 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. In 1939 Mr. Pinkerton united with the San Marcos Christian Church, completing the unity of his family in that church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Helen; 2 sons, Brown Pinkerton of Hearne and Harlin Pinkerton of Freeport; 2 daughters, Mrs. Alice Walker and Mrs. Helen Reinoshek of San Antonio; 5 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 4 sisters, Mrs. Clarice Thorpe of Woodburn, OR., Mrs. Bertha Ogle of Sedan, KS., Mrs. Helen Wilson of Houston and Mrs. Pearl Williams of Milano.

Preceded in death by father, Jim Hilton on 8/24/1960; mother, Ida Hilton in 3/1946; Husband, Benton A. Pinkerton, 3/4/1967; brothers, Shelby, Harold and William, also a son-in-law, Frank Didamo on 10/11/1987.

PINKERTON, Billie of Angleton. Age 14 mos. Died 11/25/1936 (Friday) in the hospital. On Wednesday his mother had put the smaller children in the bedroom and closed the door while she drove the car around to take the oldest son to school. After she went for the car, one of the other children opened the door and Billie got out of the house and went in search of his mother. Mrs. Pinkerton was driving the car out of the garage just as Billie walked in the drive. He was run over by the car fracturing his skull. Burial was held (Sunday p.m.) in the Salty cemetery in the presence of a large host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Services were conducted by Rev. L.C. Lilly of Thorndale and Rev. Swendell of Milano. He and his twin sister, Millie, were BORN 9/15/1935, the son of M/M. Benton Pinkerton; grandson of Mrs. Mattie Pinkerton and M/M. Jim Hilton of Salty.

In the following obit it is noted that Woddy's wife is named Jackie. I (Janie) do not know if Jackie is a second wife or a nic-name for Maud. I have not found verification of a death or divorce for Maud or for a second marriage for Woody. I have not found any other record for the daughter Betty Ann mentioned below except in this obituary.

Member of Methodist Church, Sons of Hermann and Order of Eastern Star.
