379. Townsend (2) Hewlett-7524
John A. Hewlett's source: "Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy" Vol 3 Westbury MM p 416
Townsend and Margaret had 7 children.
In 1778 Margaret was yet to be married. She was named in her father's will as unmarried and given a small legacy.
From the Jones Family Book, pg 112: "John Jones, son of William, and the head of that branch of the family whose descendants mainly settled on the north side of Long Island." This book gives an ALT d/o/b as 26 Jun 1755.
From the book, "The History of Long Island, 1903, page 101:" He settled in Cold Springs harbor about 1800, where he and his children becam quite prominent in local affairs.
403. Capt. John C. Hewlett-7669
The book "The Jones Family of Long Island" by John H. Jones, 1907, pg 148 says Phebe Jackson Jones married March 20, 1839 to Charles Hewlett, b 13 Aug 1801; d 9 Oct 1874, son of John of East Woods, Long Island. No Issue. She became possessed of the old house of John Hewlett, at East Woods (Syosset), and preserved it, but she and her husband lived with her brother, Charles H. Jones.
It looks to me like the Charles that Phebe married may be a son of Capt. John and Sarah Hewlett - but it needs better verification to prove it.

Source: 2 email from Karen Britt 9 Jul 2001 jmkcbritt@earthlink.netI, Janie Kimbe, am aware that the birth dates of Elizabeth and her brother Caleb are unlikely, but that is all I have found. If you have better info, please email me.
1026. Glorianna B. Kissam-7723
From John Fox: "Her inscription info says that she was 39 years old, probably a mistake."
Antony Maitland's site has that Deborah was Richard's second wife, but the name of his first wife is unknown.
