Obit found at the Warren County Records & Archives Dept. Genealogy Room, Lebanon, OH.
John Elbur Jackson, son of John M. and Rebecca A. Jackson, was born July 7, 1881, near Level, Warren County, Ohio and departed this life December 24, 1913, after a brief though painful illness.
He was married to Ethel M. Irons Dec. 23, 1911, which proved to be a happy and prosperous union, tho of short duration.
He has been a member of the M. E. Church about twenty years and rendered useful service as a leader in song worship.
He leaves a wife and infant son, five brothers and one sister to mourn their loss; but we trust that their loss in his gain; for he was a loving and affectionate husband and father; a cheerful and accommodating neighbor being especially efficient in cases of sickness; and he was a very active citizen, exerting his efforts in favor of Temperance reform.
He had other noble qualities which his many friends and acquaintances doubtless have recognized, but we are not basing our hopes on his behalf on the supposition that he was perfect; but on our knowledge that he has a perfect Redeemer and that he put his trust in Him who gave his life a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Therefore, let us try and cheerfully bide the time and sorrow not as others having no hope.
Funeral services in charge of the Masonic Fraternity were held at Wesley Chapel December 26, 1913, conducted by Rev. Gray and Rev. Zimmerman. Interment at Lebanon, Ohio, December 27, 1913, where short services were conducted by Rev. Kestle.

JOHN ELBUR JACKSON
On May 13, 1914, 5 months after the death of his father, John Elbur Jackson was born in Lebanon, Ohio. No wonder Ethel is such a good mother, she had to be both father and mother to her two boys.
When I was tired and sleepy, she'd wash me clean and sweet,
And hug me tight, an' tuck my gown around my little feet.
An' rock an' rock, while with her voice the old house used to ring,
Till sleep, like balm descended, as I heard my mother sing. But the mother's heart found room for four more boys and their father. Then Burdette and Elbur knew a father's care.
The names of Craig Beckett and Elbur Jackson were added to the Cradle Roll of the Olive Branch church, at the same time. Elbur has known a happy life of a farm boy with lots of brothers. On his birthday this year, he took the eighth grade examination, sucessfully, and was looking forward to his high school work this fall. For a few days he took animated interest in the Washington Township Livestock club and its ball team. He was helping with the spirit and work of the organization. But soon he was stricken sorely by sickness. Death came on June 14. Elbur was 14 years and one month old. He has gone to a Higher School than ours. His is the Great Teacher who said "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such in the Kingdom of Heaven."
