JACKSON being in feeble health but of a sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make publish the following instrument as being my last Will and testament...First I do hereby appoint my Father ELISHA JACKSON my brother J. N. JACKSON and my brother in law W. P. WILLIAMS as Trustees or Executors...They are hereby empowered to sell any property that I die seized of... for the interest of my children...And as my children becomes of age or should marry they my trustees are authorised to make such ones advancement out of any thing belonging to my estate either in money or property... And when my youngest child becomes of age I want my trustees to divide my estate equally let it consist of money or property amongst all my children (children not named in will)... The image at ancestry.com was illegible, so this record was taken from the LDS site, but I wouldn't guarantee that they read it right either. I notice two children born about 1878. Wayne Carter has another child born 1 Apr 1878 named Ham Perry with no indication if Ham was male or female. It wasn't until I found Roena on the 1930 census (76 yrs old, Wd) for Dist 1, Crockett Co., Tennessee with Ham living beside her that I realized H. Viola was Ham. The child Johnnie b 1874 is also not on the above census.Ham's husbands name on the 1930 Census was Charlie P. G???? illegible.
This 1900 census has some puzzling info. Rowena is not with the family and the head of the house is a Elizer Perry who says he is Widowed. The relationship col for Elizer is written over until it is illegible, but the children are all called sons and daughters. Elizer says he has had 13 children with 11 living - the same number of children that Rowena claims in her 1910 record. Perhaps Barham Perry's middle name was Elizer; I do not know. Note too that the birth state of the father of all the children is wrong. This appears to be an enumerator error.
Rowena. widowed, is found in the 1910, 1920 & 1930 census so she was not deceased by 1900. Where she was I do not know.
